Work Out Wednesday: The Scale Didn’t Move

I hopped on the scale this morning and it didn’t budge. I’m still down 2 pounds from last week, but I didn’t lose anymore… boo!

I only got in 2 workout sessions this week because I haven’t been feeling well and my eating could have been better, but I did wake up at 6am on Monday to get another session of running in which was good.

Anyway, I’m kinda bummed about not losing weight this week, but I’m going swimming tonight after work. I have to stay motivated even though I didn’t do so well this week…

I hope you guys did better than me!

This Weeks Work Outs: 2
Pounds Lost: 2 out of 20
Weekly Goal: lose 3-4 pounds to offset this weeks slump.

  1. I haven't been doing so well with the workouts myself but with eating right I've lost 12 pounds since the begining of August 🙂 YAY! Keep it up!! (the second week is usually the hardest!)

  2. Don't forget the PCOS component! It's real and it's a bitch. You've got to keep plugging away at the exercise, but also keep perspective with what you're working against.

I got in five workouts (down from 6 the previous weeks) and I gained two pounds back this week. That's the way it goes. I have to stay dedicated and remember it's a long term goal not flash in the pan change.

  3. Exercise is NOT an effective way to lose weight. It just makes you hungrier and you end up eating MORE. Moderate or light exercise is fine and healthy. Don't overdo it. WATCH YOUR DIET instead.

  4. The one piece of advice I can give you is not to set time based weight loss goals. I speak from experience here. As long as you take each day as they come, eat right and get some exercise each week then you will see results at the end.

Roni @ Roni's Weigh posted a quote recently that really took hold with me. It goes something like this:

If you focus on results you will never change. If you focus on change you will get results.

  5. I respectfully disagree with Anonymous about exercise. If you want to lose weight you MUST exercise. The more muscle you gain the more calories you burn while not in motion…

Diet is VERY important, also but it can't be the only thing. But I'm sure you're not posting for weight loss debates. So…

GO CECE! Keep up the good work! Workout Wednesdays are a great idea!

  6. Don't rely on the scale. I look better now than I did two months ago but the scale hasn't budged at all. Even my inches haven't gone down but I keep track with pictures and I have definitely lost weight.
And I agree with anonymous as well, the times when my weight really plummeted was when I started cutting down on my carbs.

  7. I did 6 workouts this week and put on 1kg even though I also watched what I ate. I think from now on I'm just going to go by how my clothes fit as scales just mess with my head and make me feel crap.
