Definitely never thought I’d throw on a bikini on the internet, but… the draping of this top is great for someone like me who is sensitive about her back fat. lol

I guess birthdays are for new beginnings, evolving and conquering fears ūüôā

HeyGorgeous.com used to be madisonplus.com,  so you can find some pieces on both sites:

What is a Swing Dress? | Plus Size Fashion | Summer Style

A modern swing dress is a flowy dress that still has an A-line shape. Instead of the top part of the “A” shape hugging your waist, it often will hug your chest and then the fabric will bell out from there. This gives the dress lots of movement potential…. the dress will “swing” when you walk or dance!

With a swing dress and two simple accessories, I was able to put together a dressy/comfy Saturday outfit that’s perfect to wear from a daytime bachelorette manicure party straight into an evening birthday dinner for one of Roberts friends. Easy Peasy!

If you hate wearing shape wear in the summer, these dresses are perfect. Also, depending on the fabric, you can make a swing dress casual or formal. I have some in cotton and denim. I ordered this plus size swing dress on ASOS, these Wide Width flats from Zappos, and snagged this Rebecca Minkoff bag in NYC.

What do you think of swing dresses? Would you/Could you/Have you put one on?

Plus Size Denim Shirt Dress | Plus Size Fashion

Suddenly this plus size denim shirt dress has been in high rotation for me. I first tried it on in one of my¬†YouTube¬†videos. At the time I was like “meh” but I had coupons, so I bought it and its coming in handy!

I feel like I can dress it up or down on days when I really don’t want to think about what I’m wearing. On Friday’s I’ll wear this dress to work with leggings and brown boots.¬†Two Saturdays ago, I rocked it with a few swipes of inner thigh chaffing balm¬†and my chuck taylors while running Saturday errands, outfit details below:

Plus Size Fashion: Bridal Shower Dress

Yesterday I drove out to New Jersey for my friend Suzanne’s bridal shower. It felt so good to watch someone I love surrounded by the women who love her. ¬†I was too busy smiling to take many pictures at the shower, but I did take my new Eloquii dress for a spin.

Suzanne's Shower

A few of you have asked me if I’d tried anything from the new line, so I had to rock an impromtu photo shoot for ya while I was running errands after the shower (can you guess where I am?).

My New Obsession: Plus Size Skirts with Pockets

My goal of breaking my cardigan addiction continues this week.

I bought this full skirt and it came just in time for the first day of spring last Thursday. This skirt definitely has a vintage feel to it, so my instinct was to pair it with a pink cardigan (which I’ll still do, at some point) but for my first time wearing it, I decided to create a crop top feel with a cable knit sweater.

I was so happy to be in my colorful spring outfit and then I walked into a fashion show and every single person was wearing head to toe black… awkward!

I’ve been scooping up quite a few skirts like this in different colors and patterns, hopefully I’m not replacing my cardigan addiction with an addiction to plus size skirts with pockets!

My Plus Size Nautical Look Book: One Sweater, Three Ways

Part of growing up for me is making smarter clothing purchases so that my closet and my wallet are happy. When I spotted this sweater, I fell in love instantly because I knew I could pair it with things I already had in my closet to create a variety of looks.

So, here’s my second LookBook… “Plus Size Nautical: One Sweater, Three Ways” (images/links to the pieces are below)

Let me know what you think?

Special thanks to Jack, The Dog for his cameo!

Also, LOL @ that man trying to photo bomb in the video bloopers… I wish you could see his daughters face, she was so confused. I think his dog was confused too!

My Forever 21 Plus Size Shopping Trip… Plus Size Body Con | Retro | Long Maxi’s

The only Forever 21 store with plus sizes is in Times Square, which means I had to navigate through a naked cowboy, spider man and people dressed up as sesame street characters just to shop! (side note: the elmo on 41st street really needs to deep condition and comb out his fur).

Anyway, I made it into the store and found some cute stuff so I shot a new Dressing Room Confidential video. Many of the dresses are online here if you want to avoid the times square circus.

Let me know your thoughts, the girls on YouTube loved the black maxi that I tried on even though I HATED it… lol

Dressing Room Confidential: Plus Size Shopping at MACYS

Last weekend I went to Macy’s to see if they had anything on the 7th floor where the plus sizes live.

I tried on some Michael Kors and Calvin Klein pieces along with some more affordable items from INC and American Rag (who is definitely bringing back a 1990’s trend) If you see me sporting big sunflowers and carrying a baby backpack, you’ll know why…

Shopping Tip: If you go shopping at the Macy’s on 34th street, hit up the visitors center and show your out of state/out of country ID. They’ll give you a 15% off coupon that’s good for three days!

The piece I loved the most was over $300 which is not in my budget right now, but there were a few other items that were cool… let me know which pieces you like?

Preppy & Prepping for Spring | Plus Size Fashion

*Yawn* My winter style has me bored.

This polar vortex is forcing me to dress for function more than fashion so I feel like I’m in an endless rotation of black tights, boots and big coats. Augh.

To fight the winter fashion blues, I went shopping at my apartment… never underestimate what you might find by shopping in your own closet. I took one of my favorite spring dresses and layered it with a thick cable knit sweater. The cool/rich colors were exactly what I needed to shake things up.

A few of you asked for my outfit details on my Instagram… links are below!

The preppy style and bright colors was exactly what I needed. I finished the look off with a fresh bright manicure during the the SimplyBe Spring 2014 launch event.
