Plus Size Shopping at Torrid | Dressing Room Diary

This week I took my camera into the dressing room at Torrid. We seem to be having fun with my dressing room videos on YouTube so, I’m going to make them a more regular thing on my channel, subscribe here!

I usually have one specific thing I like from each plus size store, when it comes to Torrid I adore their jeans. The fit is perfect for me and they last through my chub rub for a very long time (win!).

Normally I shop on Torrid.com, but since I was near a store I made sure to pop in and have some fun in the fitting room.

I tried on a few pairs of boyfriend jeans and honestly, I think they might be a fail on me– let me know what you think in the comments!

  1. The BF jeans are cute. You’re not trying to hard. maybe trying on a shirt that you would wear with them will give you a better idea of how you would wear them. I have two pair from Charlotte Russe Plus and I LOVE them. Hope you find a pair that you absolutely adore!!

  3. I first have to say that I love the black cocktail dress and the striped shirt in a 1. I wasn’t feeling any of the jeans but if I had to chose I would pick the girl friend jeans due to the fact that the color suited you. I am not a distressed Jean wearer I just started to accept jeans and I wear high waist skinny jeans ( only have two pair that fit ok ) so I’m not as much help. But it’s about what you want to wear.

Though I’m giving it in a very fashion forward way. Also a circle skirt is just. My go to for my Sunday and weekly ritual is a black shelth dress. I have so many it’s ashame. And pockets are a must. So the summer version are super long skits with pockets or a nice dress with pockets.

I have a horrible time with jeans especially shorts at torrid. I have two dresses from them and they are fine one is too big but was free! and for me the shirts run long since I’m short they hang and now are tunics! But I just gave up with pants because of the fit. I went up three sizes still could not wear them. I’m lost.

Can not wait for your next one.

  5. I pretty much live in Torrid’s jeggings. They’ve recently been selling more jeggings in bright, non-denim-blue colours, and I am a happy girl (who probably owns far too many pairs of them).

I keep trying to get myself into distressed denim, but I never like how it looks on me. Much like, no matter how cute it looks on the hangers and on other women, the whole hippy/boho thing just doesn’t suit me. Oh well.

About the clothes you tried on: I love, love, love the striped top. I actually bought it myself a few days ago. It is perfection. Ditto for that black dress on you. So cute. None of the jeans really wowed me, but again, distressed denim isn’t really my thing.

  7. Once again thanks for sharing your dressing room. The stripe sweater is 1 is a yes. I say keep looking for those distressed jeans – they are timeless. I didn’t like the ones you tried, but what about F21 or Old Navy? I found a cute pair a few seasons ago from F21 and I have hips for days (so they don’t typically fit correctly).

  9. I think boyfriend jeans can work well on anybody – but I agree that the ones you tried on were weird. Seconding Old Navy – if you can wear their in store sizes (which run 2-3 sizes larger than their plus line in my experience) they have some cute ones right now.

  11. I’ve never purchased anything from Torrid, so I really paid attention to your video. To be honest, I liked the sweater on you and I also thought the peach sleeveless top looked adorable on you. About the pants. maybe if you had the right shoes on??? You know how that works sometimes? I love the videos. Keep them coming!

  15. Those Boyfriend jeans were great! I love them because I am short but if the size Gremlins move on, I think they look great on you. The cocktail dress was my favorite piece and I loved the A-line skirt. I just discivered Torrid recently while learning to love my new, expanded body. I have gotten some great pieces from Avenue but I need pieces for the Texas summer now.
