  1. Hey CeCe,
As a high school teacher, I have been fortunate to incorporate my style into my professional wear. Plus size fashion is a fairly serious hobby of mine, much to my husbands chagrin (as a professional musician and trumpet player, I just look the other way as he buys more mouthpieces – a nice tradeoff). I have to tell you that my kids and I share our love of fashion. My students inspire me! They’re so creative and thoughtful and that definitely does not stop at fashion – they are awesome vocalists and artists. Although it was not possible to launch last year, several of my students asked me to be a fashion club advisor. My straight sized kids told me that they loved my style; and not in a condescending manner. This is telling me also that a shift in perception has taken hold. The blurring of the lines between plus and straight sizes…so exciting. When we teach, we influence; and the students influence us. If you are wearing what your teacher is wearing…girl, take it as a compliment. We learn as much from you as you do from us!!! With love from NYC!

    1. What a fun relationship to have with your students. At the high school level that totally makes sense, but as someone who grew up in a small town was shopping at the same store as my mom/teachers at age 12/13 I wasn’t *quite* ready to feel cool about that lol

What you’re describing is an ideal situation and I hope all the small town plus size kids get to a point where they have access to fashion as expression and community. That’s why I do the work I do… and it sounds like you’re doing the same! *high five*

  3. I love a nice cute and comfy casual look any day. Those wedge sneakers are super cute. Unfortunately I prefer to try on before buying when it comes to shoes because sizing can run differently depending on the maker. I like a backpack too because you can pack so much more with you on the go and also have your hands free to carry more shopping bags if needed! Thanks for this helpful post. Ill have to look into the trendy backpack style as the backpack I have now is not so cute. It’s durable and well made but definitely not as stylish.

  5. You really make it appear really easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be really something that I feel I would never understand. It seems too complex and very extensive for me. I am looking ahead for your subsequent post, I will try to get the hang of it!

  6. I do trust all of the concepts you’ve introduced to your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too brief for newbies. Could you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
