I was born and raised in California, but I live 3,000 miles away in New York City.
I’m close to my family and speak to them almost every day, but I still miss being around them.
One of my goals is to be able to visit my family more than once or twice a year. I want to be around more for special occasions and to just hang out with the people I love the most.
I haven’t flown home for Mother’s Day in YEARS, but this weekend I’m making it happen.
I surprised my Mom by coming to home for Mother’s Day and staying for a week! Here’s what we’re going to do:
We will start the day by going to church, then we’re going to have a family picnic in the park. We asked my Mom if there’s anything special she’d like to do after our picnic and you’ll never guess what she said…
My Mom said, “For Mother’s Day, I want to go throw Axes!”
I swear, my mom is the coolest!
So, today we will finish the day throwing axes, want to see that adventure unfold? Follow me on instagram, I’ll be sharing our Ax throwing adventure there.
In the meantime, I partnered with my friends at Catherine’s to make sure my Mom looked adorable on her special day. I got outfits for both of us!
Here’s my outfit:
I’m wearing Catherine’s Head to Toe!
I ordered this plus size jumpsuit in a size 16 (I find that Catherine’s sizing runs large). The fabric is super light weight and flowy, it almost feels like a gentle linen.
I’m obsessed with white denim this season, so I absolutely fell in love with this plus size white denim jacket. This jacket has stretch, so I never feel constricted in the arms when I wear it. I also like that it’s cut a bit longer than the plus size denim jackets I’ve been seeing at other stores.
I finished off this look with shoes from Catherine’s, if you have big and wide feet always look at Catherine’s to see if they have something you may like. I had been looking for a strappy sandal and this wide width summer sandal is adorable (especially with the little sparkle!)
I’m also introducing my Mom to lashes, I love that she’s always open to trying new looks with me.
This post is a collaboration with my friends at Catherine’s, all opinions are my own.
