How to Reinvent Yourself | 10 Easy Steps | Start Today

Hey there, beautiful dolls! Welcome back!

So, let’s talk about turning that fresh page, starting anew, and embracing the possibility of anything. Because let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good reinvention?

You may be wondering, what does it mean to bring reinvention into the mix? Well, I’m talking about combining goal-setting with genuine transformation, making those changes stick like glue.

CeCe Olisa here with a quick story time–

So, picture this: It’s a decade ago, and there I was, a humble influencer with a corporate job with a burning passion to redefine the standard and bring plus-size fashion to New York Fashion Week. I decided to take the plunge into the unknown, I stopped working my 9-to-5 job so that I could dive headfirst into my dream of bringing plus-size fashion to New York Fashion Week. And how did I plan to do it? I had to reinvent myself and go from corporate employee and part time influencer to full time influencer and co-founder of theCURVYcon.

With my dad by my side, I embraced change and moved into my family’s quaint pre-war apartment in Manhattan. Little did I know that this modest space would soon transform into the bustling headquarters of theCURVYcon. Imagine stacks of curvy con swag reaching the ceiling, boxes upon boxes filled with the essence of my dream. It was a chaotic symphony of passion and ambition, all in pursuit of something bigger than myself.

Fast forward through years of grit, hustle, and dedication, and my dream materialized into “the largest plus-size fashion event at New York Fashion Week”, according to Glamour magazine.

Now, let’s zip ahead to the present. Last year, after much prayer and reflection, I officially ended my time with theCURVYcon—it’s a bittersweet farewell. The future of theCURVYcon? Uncertain. But one thing’s for sure: I’m stepping into the next phase of my mission to redefine standards in fashion, wellness, and beauty as founder of Cocoa by CeCe.

Life has a way of coming full circle, doesn’t it? A decade later, and here I am, my tenant has moved out of my family’s quaint pre-war apartment in Manhattan and once again, with my Dad by my side, I’ve moved in. This is the first step in my current reinvention journey. After successfully redefining the standard at New York Fashion Week, it’s time to expand my mission and redefine the standard in beauty and wellness. This time around my Manhattan apartment has become Cocoa by CeCe HQ with boxes of the best smelling beauty products for your beautiful body.

Cocoa by CeCe is all about redefining beauty standards. It’s my way of sharing the ways I cultivate self love, self care and self confidence in my daily routine. I’m diving into this new chapter with a theme that resonates deeply with me: REINVENTION.

I may not have all the answers about what lies ahead, but that’s the beauty of a new beginning, right? And guess what, dolls? If you’re feeling that itch for reinvention, for a fresh start, I want you to join me. Let’s have another empowering conversation about embracing change, taking charge of our narratives, and defining our own standards of beauty.

{Before we continue, I invite you to leave a comment down below about your perspectives}

You see, I’ve got a soft spot for reinvention because I’ve done it. Ten years ago I began my intentional reinvention journey and looking back at how life changing it has been, I’m confident that those of you who listen and apply the methods I’ve learned will reap the benefits of reinvention in your own lives. And here’s the good news– You don’t need a special date like your birthday or January 1st to begin your reinvention journey. Nope, you can decide to shake things up any day, any time. So buckle up, dolls, ’cause I’m about to drop my top 10 tips for making those life transformations a reality. Let’s dive in!

Tip number one: Have a vision, doll.

What’s your one year, three year and five-year plan? Yeah, I know, it sounds corny, but hear me out. Having a roadmap for where you wanna go is like having GPS for your dreams. You’ll often hear me refer to this as your North Star. Your North Star is sparked deep inside of you. Close your eyes and let your imagination run wild. Envision the person you want to become, the life you want to lead. Trust me, clarity is key.

Tip number two: Adopt new behaviors.

For example– none of that vague “I just wanna be healthy” stuff. Let’s get specific, let’s get intentional. I believe in the “add in, crowd out” theory. Swap out those old habits for shiny new ones. Meal prep, grocery shop like a boss, and watch those changes stick.

Tip number three: Be honest with yourself, doll.

It’s time to get real about where you are and where you wanna go. No more chasing someone else’s dreams, outdated goals or living in denial. Own your truth, pretty doll.

Tip number four: Plan and schedule

Fail to plan, plan to fail, am I right? Get organized, jot down those goals, and watch your days go from chaotic to crystal clear. And speaking of clarity…

Tip number five: Regular check-ins are a must.

None of this waiting until a year has passed to see if you’ve hit those goals. No ma’am, we’re talking quarterly assessments, monthly milestones, and weekly wins. Keep yourself accountable along the way. Now, let’s talk refuel, dolls.

Tip number six: Find your source of energy

Whether it’s your faith, family, or a rocking playlist, make sure you’ve got something to lift you up when the going gets tough. Onward to…

Tip number seven: Reassess your environment

Surround yourself with positivity, ditch the negativity, and watch your world transform. This one is often easier said than done… if you’d like more tips on how to accomplish this, leave a comment and let me know! Don’t forget to lean on those resources, dolls.

Tip number eight: You don’t have to go it alone.

Seek out guidance, learn from the pros, and watch your journey get a whole lot smoother. Feel free to use me as a resource. When you leave comments with questions or comments it helps me know what to expound upon in future conversations.

Tip number nine: Consistency is key, my sweet dolls.

Stay on course, keep pushing forward, and watch those small steps turn into giant leaps. Last but not least,

Tip number ten: Appreciate the journey

Embrace every twist, every turn, and know that every setback is just a setup for a major comeback. Trust me, I know.

So, until next time, here’s to self love, self care and the confidence to redefine the standard in our own lives. Cheers to us, dolls!

p.s. I call my community my Dolls and I named my very first Cocoa by CeCe product after you. I invite you to try a mini-jar of Doll Butter and leave a review to let me know what you think!

  1. a few years ago I was launched into a season of change. I had grown so stale in the land of a false comfort zone. working on a Job that paid the bills but left me unfulfilled and holding on to a marriage and a man who long ago abandoned me. But God…. in a season of great loss( failed marriage and loss of father to Cancer) my life was redirected. I had the courage to let go and take a chance on me. I now work at a job that fulfills me as I get to style women every day in foundation garments that are both beautiful and supportive and dare I say it even sexy. I get to pour confidence into women of all ages and show them they are worthy and something as simple as a bra that actually fits can be life changing. Cheers to change and new chapters. Oh and I also dated to love again and now have the husband o always dreamed of.
