New Plus Size Fitness Instagram Account!

I seriously can’t believe that my little hashtag #PSPfit has over 10,000 posts on instagram! You girls are beasts in the gym and it makes me so happy when you tag #PSPfit to your workouts *throws glitter* We’re a movement of women who work out for the right reasons and love our bodies and every time I scroll through the #PSPfit hashtag I am inspired. In the beginning I tried to share all of your images on my personal account, but things have grown so much that I’ve decided to start an instagram account just for #PSPfit. Follow @PSPfit Here

3 Minute Plus Size Workout Routine #MakeYourMove

I have an idea, let me know what you think? On the days that working out is the last thing I want to do, I’m going to give myself a three minute workout challenge. Push hard for three minutes and then if I still feel… blah. Fine. But, if after three minutes I’m ready for more? Then off we go! Winter is when I need something like this the most. It’s so dark and cold here in NYC and my inspiration sometimes drops the minute the sun goes down (at like, 4pm… augh!). So far my three minute challenge has been working. Last week I was having a “can’t I just catch up on Downton Abbey instead of going for…

Three Ways to Get Motivated to Work Out (No Gym Required)

Is fitness one of your goals right now? I’m pretty sure we all know that working out is important for our health at any size. We probably know the workouts we enjoy and the ones we can’t stand (I’m looking at you, spin class). But at the end of the day, knowing what workouts we should be doing and actually working out are two different things. So, here are three ways to get motivated to work out. Reach out to a Friend Something I love to do is to catch up with friends and family while I take long walks. While I was home in California I caught up a lot with our family dog, Bingo. When I’m in NYC,…

The past few years, I started noticing an unfortunate trend in my new year’s resolutions: They were all steeped in negativity. “I’m going to lose weight” (because I’m too big). “I’m going to stop eating after 7 p.m.” (because I need to lose weight). “I’m going to hit the gym more” (same-old, same-old). What I’ve basically been saying is: “My body sucks.” So, although focusing on my health is undoubtedly a huge priority for me, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way I’m going to reach my goals is if I possess a positive body image. For the New Year, that means out with the negative resolutions and in with the encouraging and uplifting ones. I’m going to…

A Year of Loving Myself: 2015

If I were the type of person who said things like “This is gonna be my year!” I would have said it on January 1, 2015. But I’m not that kind of person, so I just giddily looked ahead. I was confident that at the end of 2015 I would love myself and my life in a completely different way than I did in 2014. Welp– I can confidently say that I was right, but… um… my version of 2015 was all roses and what really happened was roses and thorns… lots of thorns (shout out to Brett Michaels, you called it bro). Loving yourself and living a life you love are beautiful goals. The results are always worth…

Ultimate Workout Playlist | December 2015

Shout out to Tasha Lynne who asked for a Workout playlist over on my facebook page. I’ve got a December workout playlist that I’m kind of obsessed with. It’s a combination of some of the new music I love and my favorite Christmas songs that I can workout to. It was hard to only put in one Whitney song, so I did two. I may have done a praise break while walking during Joy to the World, but that’s my business. It was also hard not to just add the entire *NSYNC Christmas album, but… I held back lol The playlist is 46 minutes long including a cooldown to 98 degrees, This Gift (CeCe’s boy band obsessed if you didn’t…

How to Stick with Your Workouts During the Holidays

I know I don’t need to explain to you how easy it is to skip workouts during the holidays– augh. It’s getting dark and cold pretty quickly here in NYC, so when I look out the window or step outside I just want to run back inside and hibernate. Not to mention my schedule between Thanksgiving and Christmas is just bananas. In the PSP Squad facebook group, some of my girls were asking for tips to stay healthy during the holidays. I don’t think it’s fair to try and overhaul your whole lifestyle during the holidays, so I’m not going to suggest anything extreme, but we can do our best to maintain where we are during the holidays, right? So here are four things…

Exciting News!!

Exciting news… I’m happy to share with you that I officially have a book project in the works! So many of you have been encouraging me to write a book based on this blog and now it’s happening. This book project will not happen overnight, but it is happening. It’s actually a little early in the game for me to share this with you, but I’m spilling the beans early for three very specific reasons. Don’t Bang on Locked Doors: There was a time when I thought a book was the next logical step for me; during that time I pitched my book idea and I got turned down… a lot! So I put that idea on pause, I…

Winter Plus Size Running Gear

Today I’m sharing my basic Winter Plus Size Workout Clothes. I wear a variation of this when I’m running on the track or walking to the gym in my neighborhood so that I stay warm during my workouts. If you’re not a fan of “overheating”, take advantage of cool temperatures and try an outdoor workout while Autumn is here, you might like it! Riding a Whale in Jamaica | Shame Free Confidence | Travel Vlog

A few months ago I got a text from my girl Chastity (aka GarnerStyle). We’re going to Jamaica. You’re Coming. And that was pretty much that. Just two years ago I can remember being so jealous of my skinny friends for having a bunch of bikinis when I could barely find one granny style swim-dress that I was comfortable in. This time everything was different. I was the one with a suitcase full of bikinis and coverups! The best way I can describe what I felt in Jamaica is to call it “Shame-Free Confidence”, its the most freeing feeling to be okay with what you look like– I’ll be talking more about that during #PSPfit bootcamp.
