Happy Feet, Skinny Tees & Sweet Valley Confidential (Friday Giveaway!)

Happy Friday! Three things made me happy this week: 1.) Skinny Tees are advertised as “the diet you wear” these comfy, colorful cami’s are built to smooth out lumps and make a seamless curvy figure. I’ve worn Skinny Tees in a few different colors this week and I think they do a good job of smoothing without rolling. I still wore them with spanx, but I really like them. The part I love about them is that I was able to run some errands without a bra! 2.) Happy Feet Insoles are amazing! I wore them with a pair of stilettos this week and with every step I felt like I was getting a foot massage. These insoles are filled…

Fashionably Ever After: Performing in LucieLu!

I know I talk a lot about my office job, but I left California and moved to New York City to pursue a career on stage (singing, acting, etc.). Although my office job pays the bills right now, being creative is what I’m passionate about. Last weekend, I was asked to be a part of a two night performance with an up and coming orchestra in the city. It was fun to be on stage, doing what I love and because it was a concert I was able to choose what I wore. I thought it was a great opportunity to debut a dress that LucieLu sent me (sidenote: LucieLu carries up to size 5x!). I had originally thought about…

Plus Size Fashion with Igigi!

Oh Igigi, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways… Igigi by Yuliya Raquel is one of my favorite plus size boutiques. I met the Igigi team during Full Figured Fashion Week last summer and have since added three of their dresses to my wardrobe. Today I am wearing the outfit featured below. I based today’s look on the Helena Dress, which Igigi so generously sent to me last week.  This dress is the perfect splash of color to make me feel like Spring is on the way. Its still a bit cold in NYC, so I threw on some tights and boots, but I look forward to wearing this with bare legs and open toed shoes when…

A Fun & Flirty Plus Size Cloak

Living in New York City, I have to have clothes for Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. I also have to have clothes for the transitional weeks in between each season. In a few weeks it won’t be warm enough to go without a jacket but at the same time it won’t cold enough to wear a huge coat. I used to wear denim jackets and scarves during this time of year, but sometimes that look is too casual. So I’ve been looking for a light jacket and came across this cloak. Usually coats can be tricky to size, since I have to consider bulky sweaters and scarves underneath, but this cloak gives lots of versatility because its constructed with a…

Plus Size Hipster Look

Living in New York City is such an inspiration. I love soaking up the fashion from around the city and adapting it to fit my own style. As the temperatures have been dropping, I’ve found myself trying to find flirty outfits that are still warm and cozy. I feel like some of the Lower East Side Hipster girls rock this look so effortlessly and although I don’t plan on running around in black skinny jeans, thankfully its becoming easier to find womens plus size clothing and I have found my own version of a hipster look with a dress from Lucie Lu I ordered the Orla Dress from Lucie Lu in Vintage Grey because grey is an awesome neutral color. I guess…

Plus Size Maxi Dress: Kiyonna

Happy New Year Lovelies! I have not been keeping you in suspense on purpose regarding the Robert situation. I got really sick and ended up in the hospital for days. I don’t really feel like going into detail right now, but I will be fine. I’m just thanking God that I’m still here. Anyway, I’m easing back into things here on TBGB so I will begin with an update from my California trip and we will pick back up with my dating escapades next week. Thanks for being so patient! xoxo I’ve been a huge fan of Kiyonna for a long time and as a Plus Size Princess, I give them a lot of props for being a pioneer of…

Cool Me Down For Christmas

I’ve been going through my jewelry box for holiday parties and I’m realizing that I could use some more formal pieces in my collection. My Dad has done a good job of providing me with beautiful diamond and pear classic sets that I like to break out on special occasions. I need to improve my collection of jewelry for when want something colorful that isn’t going to rust over after a week. Ice.com, the Internet’s first online Jewelry store has an amazing pair of blue topaz earrings that I’m thinking about getting and I guess my timing is good because they’re giving away money to their customers. Plus Size Holiday Dresses: New Years

I’m not sure what I’m doing for New Years, but I know I want to look amazing doing it. I’ve started browsing stores around the city and online looking for a fun party dress to ring in the new year. I’m seeing a lot of sequins in the stores but I don’t think that’s the look I’m going for. I don’t want to look like a disco ball but I do want something glamorous. For me glamor comes from the way a dress is constructed or the fabric from which its made. Since I was avoiding the sequin route, I thought maybe satin or velvet would a good direction to go and I came across two satin party dresses on…
