I’m that weird person who always says “Happy New Year!” about a week longer than everyone else. I know I’ve taken the New Year’s greeting too far when I say it and people look at me shocked and confused. Then I retire the greeting for the year. So, I know we’re already into the month of February but I’d like to take a minute about talk about January.
One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2018 is to take note of the good things in my life while they’re happening. If you haven’t figured this out about me already, I’m very driven and goal oriented. This is a good thing, but sometimes I’m so focused on the future that I don’t take in the amazing things happening in the present until much later.
This year I want to look back on each day, week and month and take moments for joy and gratitude.
That being said, I’d like to share with you 5 Amazing things that happened in the month of January.
California Living
Ziggy Smalls and I are really enjoying bi-coastal living. I’ve been slowly setting up my California apartment and enjoying the slower pace that we have when we’re on the west coast. One of my favorite things about my California apartment is the fireplace. Each night I make myself a cup of tea (or glass of wine), turn on the fireplace and watch the news with Ziggy curled up beside me.
It’s something simple, but I love having that as part of my night routine.
What I love about this list is that it celebrates being happy now. I’ve had wonderful things to me and I think it’s because I’ve learned to do that – be happy now. I did my first public speaking on wellness and I was invited to do corporate staff training. Now I get to share the happiness I chose to have now, with others. Go us!!!
That’s so cool Roanne!!! Whoop! Whoop!
Making friends when I moved to NY was one of the hardest things for me. I got really home sick, being from SC, and was also glad when my best friends came to soend time with me. Then I slowly made new friends. It’s awesome that your enjoying bicoastal living and California is such a beautiful place. This past January two things happened for me. I graduated with my Masters degree and I started a new job as a Clinical Counselor.
Congratulations!!!!!
Love this!!! January brought me a new adopted retired racing greyhound and my self made promise to take care of me this year, health, fitness and self care. I finally made the decision that I need to put my foot down in my professional environment and find a new place that appreciates me and will let me learn. February’s update is gonna be epic. All the bad karma I endured has come back and is like hey girl thanks for riding all that out we didn’t forget you ??♀️
