I just had my first whirlwind day where I left for meetings in the morning and came back home late at night after a holiday party. I’m happy to say that I arrived home feeling fresh and flawless thanks to my arsenal of beauty products that I found at CVS.
If you’re new here, let me bring you up to speed, I’m obsessed with CVS! Before I forget, are you part of the CVS Beauty Club?

Okay let’s talk about how to stay fresh and flawless from desk to drinks this Holiday season.
Evening Skin Care Routine:
My look begins with taking care of my skin the night before. I used to just wash my face, moisturize and be done but these days I’m trying to take it to the next level with a full skin care routine. I like things simple and not too expensive, so this three-step system from La Roche Posay was perfect for me. Along with the cleanser these additional two steps have kept me blemish free and kept me in my budget.
I wear makeup almost every day so giving my face time to breathe at night is very important. I’ve been using this La Roche Posay set as part of my night routine and I’m loving it. (Remember It’s under $30!) and the three step process leaves my skin feeling soft and clean when I go to bed.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know that my manicures last on average… about 8-12 hours before they start chipping. My nails just don’t hold polish very well no matter what beauty hacks I try. So, you can imagine my surprise when I tried Essie’s Gel Couture system and my nails didn’t chip for an entire week! This has been great for me with all of the events, photo shoots and on camera work that I’ve been doing. The color lasts, but it comes off easily with nail polish remover and doesn’t damage my nails at all. The key is to use the Gel Couture Top Coat, so be sure to grab a bottle of that.
My foundation for freshness starts in the shower (duh) I’m a huge fan of this Shea Moisture body wash, the trick is to use it with exfoliating gloves and give your body a good scrub. It’s like giving myself a mini spa scrub treatment each morning. This gets my skin feeling clean, soft and smelling good. I finish off by moisturizing with the Shea Moisture Hibiscus Coconut lotion and I’m ready to be fresh like a daisy all day long!
There are two brands I’d like to call out for you: L’Oreal and Makeup Academy.
Having a deeper skin tone, it’s so rare that I find colors that match my skin. I usually have to mix in other colors/concealers to get the right tone. But this L’Oreal Lumi Foundation blends right into my skin (see the video below) it’s creamy, blends into my skin well, at the same time it’s light weight but has a lot of coverage. I’d almost say it could pass for a Lancome dupe, which means it’s really good!!
Remember you can only get MUA products at CVS. I vote “Yes” to the Professional Brow Pencil & Highlighter, No Crease Eyeshadow Primer, and Luminizing Lip Gloss. It’s actually what I’m wearing in the video, so you can see how it looks. Check out the full MUA collection in your CVS store or click here!
I was excited to find a coral lip gloss with a pigment that was strong enough for my skin tone. I did use the matching liner first and for me this was a welcome change from the liquid lipstick that I normally wear.
For my eyeshadow to stay on all day, a no crease base is the key. I’ve paid a lot and a little for my eyeshadow base and realized that I don’t have to pay a lot for the quality that I need. The MUA No Crease Eyeshadow Base is right in that budget friendly range, but oh my goodness this works like a dream range. My eyeshadow glides on easily and stays in place all day… boom!
After I washed my hair with Salma Hayek Flax Seed Age Therapy Shampoo I was in heaven. I used a tiny bit of the shampoo to lather up my scalp and it got thick and sudsy rather quickly which I like. I coated my hair with the matching conditioner and let it sit while I shaved my legs and did some other things, then I rinsed. My hair smelled amazing for the entire day.
The next day I used the Soy Protein Primer Spray to set my hair on sponge rollers. It did a good job of holding my curls but next time I’ll probably mist a little hairspray over my head for a little stronger hold.
Of course, we can get our prescriptions and every day needs at CVS, but there’s a whole secret world of amazing beauty finds at CVS. Now that I’ve discovered five brands, I’m going to review them for you, watch the video below to see what products I’ll be getting again.
