Living in NYC there are so many magical places that a girl can get lost, but can I tell you a secret?
My favorite place to get lost… is CVS.
Seriously, all of my close girlfriends know this about me. I can spend a good hour wandering around a CVS store.
New York City has plenty of drugstores to choose from, but CVS is my favorite because it’s the destination for drugstore beauty. If I’m waiting for a prescription, I’ll browse the aisles and discover a new brand or product that is closer to high end beauty than drugstore beauty.
The beauty shopping experience at CVS Pharmacy is getting even better (I’m getting my life!) with in-store enhancements that make it super easy to find new products and feel-good beauty from inspiring, innovative brands.
There’s always new innovative, on-trend products each time I pop in!
It doesn’t matter if I’m at the CVS in NYC or in my small hometown of Fresno, CA, the Beauty aisles are filled with international brands like French pharmacy must-haves Bioderma and Korean-inspired tissue masks (I’m obsessed!) and exclusive brands you can only get at CVS Pharmacy like Nuance Salma Hayek, Promise Organic, Makeup Academy (MUA), Beauty360, and more.
Over the years, I’ve discovered brands like NYX, L’Oreal and Revlon and Burt’s Bees inside CVS.
This week I spotted Dermatologist-approved brands like L’Roche Posay.
I also discovered five new brands that I’m really excited about.
Can I share them with you?

1.) Nuance by Salma Hayek Hair Products
As you know, I swim all the time. So I’m always testing the most rejuvenating hair products that I can find. When I picked up the bottle of Salma Hayek Flax Seed Age Therapy Shampoo, it smelled great and I love eating flax seeds, so using them to strengthen my hair sounded great. I also scooped up the matching conditioner.
When I put curls in my hair, I like to use a setting spray to help the curls last longer. So, I scooped up the Nuance Soy Protein Primer Spray. It’s light weight and has conditioning qualities that may be less harsh than what I’ve been using to hold my styles in place.
2.) MUA Makeup Academy
From the display to the packaging, this line makes you forget it’s a drug store brand.
For my first purchase, I figured I couldn’t go wrong with an eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow primer, lip pencil and lip gloss (both in the color coral). Check out the full MUA collection in your CVS store or click here! These products are exclusive to CVS and I love their wide range of products!
3.) La Roche Posay
This La Roche Posay set was voted a best in beauty in my Allure mag, so I knew I wanted to try it. It’s under $30 but it’s high end skin care. This was a no brainer purchase!
4.) Makeup for All Skin Tones!
I must say, there was a time when I couldn’t always find my shade of brown in drug stores. I’m so happy that stores like CVS are being more inclusive with the brands and skin tones that they serve. I scooped up the Loreal Lumi foundation for my complexion with no problem at all!
5.) Natural, Organic, Sustainably-produced bath products
The SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus body wash is no joke, it smells amazing! I used it at my cousins house once and I’ve been meaning to pick some up. CVS had the full line of the lotion and body scrub too, which made me very happy.
With more than 7,600 CVS stores nationwide – likely there’s one within 3 miles of your home, so you can go exploring in their beauty aisles too!
I’m thinking I should do a video review of these products– is that something you’d like to see? Leave a comment and let me know!
