I used to be the type of person who always had huge birthday parties.
It was fun for me to bring all of my friends together to do something that I enjoy, but over the past few birthdays my desires have really changed.
Instead of focusing on having a really epic day, I choose to have a really awesome and positive day.
That looks different from year to year, but here are some of my favorite things to do on my birthday:
Make a List… Check it Twice:
It’s really easy for me to get caught up in what I haven’t accomplished yet, but this year I’m making a list of five things I’ve accomplished since my last birthday and five things I want to accomplish by my next birthday. Let’s call it, A Year of Loving Myself, the Remix
Wear a cute outfit:
No matter what I do on my birthday I want to wear something cute. Sometimes it’s a crop top and a skirt, sometimes it’s shorts and a denim shirt. This year, I need an excuse to break out my pink bow shoes, so… a dress, it is!
Buy Myself Flowers:
Okay, this is actually a new one for me. Roses are my birth flower and every year on my birthday I know I’ll get flowers from my Dad (and the guy I’m dating…) but this year I decided that I shouldn’t wait for flowers to arrive. I should buy some for myself! A girl can never have too many roses in her apartment, right?
Did you know that you can get gorgeous pink roses from Amazon?
Book a Trip:
Because of theCURVYcon, it’s almost impossible for me to get out of town on my actual birthday, but I’ve spent the weekend looking a trip options. I’m torn between a warm beach and europe… what should I choose? Either way there are some amazing deals on Jetsetter and JetBlue
Be a Mermaid:
As a summer baby, my birthday isn’t complete without some time by the pool. So, while I wait for my upcoming trip to arrive I’ll find a rooftop pool here in NYC and enjoy my wonderful day.
