As many of us who struggle with weight loss, I’ve lost and gained and lost and gained. When it finally “clicked” for me, when I took my lifestyle seriously it took me about 1.5 months to lose those pounds. I still have more to go but I’m in the right mindset.
I started training with a personal trainer, Dan Diezy based in NYC. I have to thank him for breaking me mentally; he pushed me farther than I thought I could ever go! Of course following a strict diet initially but I started modifying my meals to my work life and lifestyle because being extremely strict didn’t work for me. I have a very demanding job and also work on our blog so I needed to adjust in order to achieve my goals. Keeping a journal of what I eat also helps me see what successes I’ve had. I use MyFitnessPal to track my calorie intake, its an incredible tool to track progress as well. (My twin) Jeka is also a great motivator, she eats extremely clean and that puts me in check when I’m having my cravings. It always great to have her as a supporter whose also in this with me.
Honestly, I sometimes look in the mirror and don’t see what people are seeing. People have said “Oh wow, you’ve lost so much weight! What did you do?” It’s baffles me that people are asking the fat girl about health advice, its a mindfreak honestly. People also congratulate me on what I have achieved, which is also a personal gold star for me, it boosts my ego to see that my hard work is paying off and I’m hopefully motivating others to do the same.
